Bio: Donna L. Roback
Donna Roback is a well-respected and experienced practitioner in the area of Employment Law, Labor Law and ADR. She brings over 25 years of substantive expertise to the firm, having practiced in every aspect of employment law. She is admitted to practice and has appeared before all courts on both the state and federal level, including the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. She has extensive appellate experience and has successfully argued before the Eighth Circuit court sitting en banc.
Donna provides advice, both preventative and situational, to employers regarding all types of labor management issues, workplace training for supervisors and the general workforce on a variety of subjects including performance management, sexual harassment training, and compliance with regulatory laws. She also drafts employee handbooks, specific employment policies, employment agreements and separation/severance agreements. Her specific expertise is litigation, and she has successfully defended restrictive covenant, discrimination, sexual harassment, and tort cases for employers, many cases being dismissed on summary judgment.
Several of her cases have been published and are cited as law by attorneys and judges.
Donna is also well recognized in the area of ADR (alternative dispute resolution), having been named in 2005 as one of the top 40 mediators by her peers. She is a certified mediator, arbitrator and professional life coach. She has recently taught ADR at the University of Minnesota law school as an adjunct professor. Donna has also lectured extensively on all topics of employment law including sexual harassment, age discrimination, performance evaluation, and mediation. She has been voted a Superlawyer in the areas of Employment Law and ADR from 1998-present as well as a Leading Minnesota Attorney.
Donna received her Juris Doctor (cum laude) from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1979. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (cum laude) from Tulane University.
